WYLAND TO INTRODUCE DRAMATIC NEW IMAGES AT MARCH SHOWS
The moon shines softly on peaceful waters in "Blue Moon Tranquility," a new limited-edition giclee on canvas by Wyland.
Internationally acclaimed artist Wyland will make a special appearance at the Islamorada, Key West and Sarasota galleries that bear his name in March, debuting his most recent images and sharing his enthusiasm for art and the natural world with collectors.
Wyland will appear at his studio/gallery in Islamorada, located at 81219 Overseas Highway, from 6 to 10 p.m. March 5 and 6. The following weekend, he will move south to Key West's 623 Duval Street gallery, appearing March 12 and 13 from 6 to 10 p.m.
He will then travel to Sarasota to greet art lovers March 20, also from 6 to 10 p.m., at the St. Armands Circle gallery at 314 John Ringling Boulevard.
Recognized as an environmentalist as well as the world's most popular marine life artist, Wyland is the creator of 100 evocative, life-size Whaling Wall murals in locales around the globe. His work and environmental commitment have been lauded by world-renowned ocean scientists and explorers including Dr. Sylvia Earle and Dr. Robert Ballard.
In keeping with this focus, at his Wyland Galleries shows the artist will debut a compelling series of bronzes depicting endangered and threatened creatures. These minimalist pieces, a departure from Wyland's classic ocean-themed work, are crafted of recycled bronze with hand-applied patinas.
He will also unveil his latest paintings and a breathtaking group of limited-edition giclees on canvas -- and demonstrate his artistry by creating new images as show attendees observe.
