Wyland Galleries of Key West and Sarasota are now showcasing the colorful one-of-a-kind glass sculptures of the Borowski family. The distinctive pieces are available at the 102 Duval Street gallery in Key West and at the Sarasota gallery on St. Armands Circle.
Although the family has had little exposure in the United States, they are acclaimed internationally for their exceptional visions in glass.
The Borowski tradition began with Stanislaw Borowski, renowned for his engraved glass and glass sculptures. In 1990, he founded Glasstudio Borowski in Germany.
His sons Pawel, Wiktor, and Stanislaw Jan have since joined him in the creation of bold, uniquely-shaped objets d’art that are sought out by museums and private collectors worldwide.
The enthusiasm of the Borowski family for their art is reflected in their innovative handmade sculptures. The artists sometimes apply nearly-forgotten techniques that give their masterworks a rare sense of individuality and creative freedom.
